Introducing PointGuard AI – Comprehensive AI Application Security

We’re excited to announce that AppSOC is now PointGuard AI, a new name that reflects our expanded capabilities and commitment to safeguarding both modern applications and the complex world of AI pipelines, models, and agents.

When we founded the company three years ago, our mission was to consolidate security management across the vast landscape of AppSec tools—focusing on orchestration, risk prioritization, remediation, and governance across DevOps pipelines. These capabilities remain core to our platform but as enterprise AI adoption has accelerated, so has our vision. The AppSOC platform provides the ideal foundation to expand into protecting critical AI pipelines, models, and agentic apps, along with the connected applications supporting them.

Finding the right name was a challenge that took months of brainstorming, vetting, and domain acquisition. We aimed for a name that was strong, intuitive, and representative of our full-stack approach to security in an increasingly AI-powered world.

PointGuard AI perfectly captures our evolving mission as the AI security space rapidly evolves. Leading with point is both specific and directional as we go to market with a solution that secures critical points in the AI lifecycle, has the precision and agility of a basketball point guard, and points us to the future of securing our increasingly AI-powered world. This has also inspired our new tagline on our homepage:

Point to the future. Guard the AI that Powers it.

AI security is not just about monitoring—it’s about active safeguarding. We’re embedding adaptive guardrails into the AI lifecycle to prevent unintended behaviors, manage prompt injection attacks, enforce data privacy, and mitigate risks. These features are essential to ensuring that AI and agentic apps perform safely and reliably in production environments.

Expanding from Application Security to AI-First Security

Our growth in the AI security space has been fueled by our modular platform. It allows customers to begin with any component—from AI discovery and model testing, to runtime defense and supply chain protection—and scale organically. As more of our customers implement agentic apps to automate decisions, workflows, and customer interactions, the need to safeguard these intelligent systems has never been greater.

Interestingly, we’re seeing convergence between AI and application security use cases. Many of our existing ASPM customers are now extending into AI security, while new customers focused on AI are starting with our application security platform to establish baseline protections. The synergy is real, and our platform is built to support it—bridging traditional AppSec with next-gen AI protection.

What’s Next?

We’re gearing up for the RSA Conference, where we’ll announce version 2.0 of our platform. This major release features extensive new capabilities to enforce guardrails across dynamic inference workflows and provide continuous safeguarding throughout the AI supply chain.

We’re also thrilled to share that we’re a finalist for an SC Award for Best Supply Chain Security and have been cited in multiple Gartner reports on AI security strategy. And while the AppSOC name may still appear in some references during this transition, our future—and yours—is secured by PointGuard AI.

As we charge ahead in a fast-moving, rapidly changing, and competitive AI security market, we’d like to thank our current customers and partners. Your support and endorsement have helped us evolve from AppSec pioneers to trusted defenders of AI and agentic intelligence. We hope to see you at RSA and let us know if you would like to book time to meet with our experts and see a demonstration of AI application security in action.
